Our apps
Baseline: AAC Assessments was created out of our field’s serious need for responsive, high-quality, data rich assessment tools for clinicians assessing individuals who may require augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
The app currently has six main tests including:
Grid Size - Presents increasingly larger grids (smaller buttons) to the examinee with a star in one square to determine ideal grid size for their AAC device and software.
Icon Discrimination - Works similarly to Grid Size, but fills the grid with other random icons to test the examinee’s ability to find a specific icon (star) among other distractors.
Category Inclusion/Exclusion - Two tests that assess an individual’s ability to find an object that does or does not fall into a given category.
Noun/Verb Identification - Two straightforward vocabulary assessments, testing many of the most commonly used nouns and verbs.
This app is a one-time purchase and captures very valuable data for AAC assessments, including overall accuracy, strengths/areas of need, an accuracy map to determine if any areas of the screen had higher error rates, and the ability to export all of this information into a beautiful, easy-to-read PDF.
